What! I have to open a Twitter account?... hmm

Well, let me tell you about my current journey using a Twitter account for my PLN (Professional Learning Network), it has been incredibly hard for me to keep up with a social network while having a busy life. At first, my professor asked all of us to make and account and explained how we were supposed to use it and how it would get graded. I personally do not like any type of social media where I have to post what I am thinking, for example, Facebook. So, by opening a Twitter account I felt really unease about it along with other classmates. I told myself it was just for grade for my class and it was also a requirement, so I had to be flexible with myself, as well as, learning how to be a flexible as a future teacher.

As I tried it and played with it I came to find many resources that I didn't know existed for teachers. I began to notice that there are also for teacher use chat rooms (Twitter Deck), where you can talk to other educators and professionals on the spot for future lessons tips, to ask for help, and/or to give each other advice. The advantage of having an account for PLN reasons is a great tool, because you are be able to see what is happening in other schools and to be more updated with important educational information.

Also, to be honest I actually got comfortable using the Twitter account for asking questions; when I'm stuck with a project, and I am able to seek the help from others! I am able to express myself while learning new things in class and I am able to share new resources with people that follow me. I believe that this can be something I could keep using in the future as I become a teacher so, I can get more ideas and be able to get informed from other great teacher and student resources. I believe this network it is already becoming a requirement or being implemented in other school districts for teachers to use.
