Ok Google.. Show me google extensions!

Hello everyone!

As this week passed I learned many cool and easy to use technology tools for students and ourselves as educators. let me tell you a few new things I've learned about Assistive Technology- many tools that can be use to help students with specials needs and even me us as an educator. I believe I sometimes take advantage of these tools.

let me tell you this though, woooooah I did not know that there was a thing like the translate google sheets. Especially today, whereas we all work with so much diversity and students that come from different cultures. This google sheet translates most all languages into English so its easy to communicate with all student language barriers. as I viewed the video I was like, no way cool. I would love to use tis one day if I ever have a student with a language barrier in order for me to communicate appropriately.   here is a link to check out!

ALSO, amazing what the Chrome extensions can do, it is for special needs and struggle students. it has many extensions to help students succeed in their education and accommodating their needs. It includes various extensions like text-speech, readability, reading comprehension and many more. check them out.

Honestly I wasn't a special needs student in school or in college but, surely do I still use the TEXT-SPEECH  extension. I have an issue with writing. I dislike writing because I don't like to write or type. I get the writers block and so I struggle to put words on my paper. But, with the text-speech extension from Chrome it helps me finish any essays on time and with out any stress. When I speak to it, it types it for me. I love how I jot ideas down and i am able to talk about it like if I was talking to a person. I love how it is clear and accurate, then I go back to it and proof read it and edit it and wa-la! my essay is done!😉
I will definitely will be telling all my students about this tool they will be glad to know its available.

Ofcourse there are many other resources to help students with special needs but I believe that google extensions are great!

Another great tool is the screen-o-matic, it is a great tool but I believe it is too hard to learn it in one try to make a video, it has a lot of things that be use to help you make a great learning experience , but personally yes I will use technology to a limit and this is to much to learn and teach my students. It also, has other topics the ones that I have used for my classrooms are SEESAW and CLASS DOJO these two are great apps to use to communicate with the student and parent it is great to use and its easy! when i used to work in a daycare I used Class Dojo and parents loved it and were always happy to be involved. For Seesaw, my son in 1st grade used it with me and as a parent and teacher I love it it was so clear and easy to manage.

viewers... please look into Popplet and Bubbl these are great resources to do any mapping and organizing even for your students. for sure I will using these especially with my high school students!

As I pass this information with teachers at school, lets all connect and teach other ideas!
Have a great day everyone!
